And so! Drum roll please! I'm looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.

Rebel Wolves is a new studio whose team comprises industry veterans who have worked on some of the most critically acclaimed video games ever. We're currently working on an AAA dark fantasy RPG - the first title of a planned saga set in our own brand-new universe.

As a Lead Writer, you'll work under our Narrative Director, managing a team of writers and working collaboratively with other team leads to ensure the highest possible quality of our games' narratives. You'll deliver high-quality writing of your own and review and give feedback on the work of the Writer Team.

You can work either on-site in our modern offices in Warsaw, Poland, or remotely.

We’re currently working on an AAA dark fantasy RPG - the first title of a planned saga set in our own brand-new universe.

We’re looking for a Lead Writer to join our Narrative Team. As a Lead Writer, you’ll be working under our Narrative Director, managing a team of writers and working collaboratively with other team leads towards ensuring highest possible quality of our games’ narratives. As Team Lead, you will be expected to deliver high quality writing of your own and review and feedback the work of the Writer Team. You can work either on-site, in our modern offices in Warsaw, Poland (Dereniowa Street) – or remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, feedbacking and supporting the Writers Team;
  • Collaborating closely with the Narrative Director and other Team Leads;
  • Reviewing and improving story pitches, outlines and dialogs;
  • Crafting stories;
  • Writing dialogues;
  • Writing cutscene and CGI scripts;
  • Writing on-screen, in-game documents;
  • Creating internal documentation;
  • Ensuring lore consistency and expanding our own, new IP;
  • Collaborating with PR/ Marketing and Localization;
  • Working with VO artists and directors.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills with documented successes;
  • Native or near-native fluency in English;
  • Experience in team management and leadership skills;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a writer/ narrative designer in the video game industry with a track record of outstanding achievement;
  • Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, UE) and dialogue writing tools;
  • Ability to create interactive, non-linear stories and dialogues;
  • Ability to adapt the story to gameplay and technical requirements without sacrificing the quality of the writing;
  • Basic IT fluency;
  • Passion for video games, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

If you don’t quite meet all the requirements, consider taking a chance anyway. We’ll be open-minded, too.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with the history and folklore of Central and Eastern Europe;
  • Experience writing in other media (e.g., movies, comic books, novels);
  • Fluency in Polish.

What happens after I apply?

  • If, based on your CV and the sample of writing, we feel you might be a good fit, we’ll ask you to write a test. You will have 7 days to complete it.
  • If we like your test, we’ll arrange remote interview.
  • Following the interview, we might ask for additional references from the people you worked with in the past.
  • If all goes well, we’ll have a second meeting and then extend an offer.
  • If we determine that you might not be the best fit, we’ll let you know as soon as the decision is made.
