This role blends strong copywriting and editorial skills with a strategic mindset to craft compelling, high-converting content that resonates with our audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Editorial Leadership: Continue shaping and refining GWE’s brand voice by writing and editing high-quality newsletters and articles, including gift guides and sale roundups, for Substack (4–8 per month or more as needed), ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with our brand voice.
  • Content Production: Copyedit, proof, and perform quality assurance on all newsletters before publishing (formatting, links, images, layout), including those written by other writers  (formatting, links, images, layout), to guarantee brand consistency and top-tier editorial quality.
  • Affiliate & Commerce Content: Develop commerce-enabled content (ex., gift guides, themed product roundups, beginner’s guides) and naturally integrate affiliate links and brand partnerships.
  • Ingredient Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of ingredients to ensure every piece of content is educational and aligned with GWE’s non-toxic standards. Prior experience writing for a better-for-you or non-toxic brand is required.

  • Performance-Driven Writing: Craft compelling subject lines, calls to action, and persuasive copy to maximize engagement and conversions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and editorial team, providing light feedback to writers, stepping in to write or edit when needed, and supporting branded content initiatives.
  • AI & Tools: Use AI tools to streamline outlining and light content generation while maintaining a brand editorially polished voice.
  • Multi-Channel Support: Occasionally write captions, Substack Notes, LinkedIn posts, or create light graphics in Canva based on templates.
  • Content Management: Upload and format content in Substack or WordPress and ensure deadlines are consistently met.

You’re a Great Fit If You:

  • Have prior experience working for a non-toxic, clean, or “better-for-you” brand (digital media or brand-side)
  • Have 3+ years of experience in copywriting or editorial roles (newsletter, e-commerce, or digital media preferred).
  • Have a strong understanding of ingredients (especially in food, beauty, or household products) and can confidently write educational content around them.
  • Are skilled at editing and formatting content quickly and cleanly with strong attention to detail.
  • Understand and experienced in affiliate marketing and commerce-driven content strategies and content.
  • Can write persuasive, brand-aligned copy that converts without being salesy.
  • Have experience with Substack or similar newsletter platforms.
  • Are organized, proactive, and reliable in managing deadlines.
  • Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment and supporting a small editorial team.
  • Have a strong interest in wellness, non-toxic living, and e-commerce.
