We’re hiring freelance copy editors with expertise in home improvement and home services.
If you’ve spent years editing content about plumbing, HVAC, roofing, electrical work, painting, house cleaning, or other home services topics—or if you came from the trades and moved into editing—we’d love to talk.
We have an exciting new project in the works, and we’re building out our bench now.

Join Our Home Services Editorial Team
Do you have a sharp eye for detail and years of experience editing home improvement content?
Super Copy Editors is expanding its freelance team to support a major content initiative in the home services space. We’re looking for experienced editors who know their way around a plumbing article, a roofing cost guide, or an HVAC FAQ, whether that knowledge comes from years of editing in this space or from actual hands-on experience in the trades.
This is part-time, 100% remote freelance work. Work volume will be substantial and ongoing, with a consistent flow of assignments across multiple home services categories.
Our company strongly values diversity and inclusivity. We are committed to building a team that reflects varied cultural backgrounds and perspectives.

What You’ll Be Working On
We’re supporting a large-scale editorial project that involves reviewing AI-generated articles, FAQs, and other homeowner-focused content. Your job is to bring the human expertise the content needs:
- Checking facts
- Flagging anything that doesn’t hold up
- Assessing whether sources and links are reliable
- Making light improvements where the writing needs it
This is not heavy rewriting. It’s careful, knowledgeable editorial review by someone who knows the subject matter well enough to catch what AI gets wrong.
What “Experience” Means to Us
We define experience broadly here. You might be a great fit if you:
- Have edited articles, guides, or web content for a home services brand, trade publication, or platform (Angi, HomeAdvisor, The Spruce, and similar)
- Have a professional background in one of the trades and have since moved into editing or writing
- Have spent years covering home improvement topics as a writer or editor and know the subject matter cold
What we’re not looking for: general copy editors with no particular familiarity with these topics. This role requires genuine subject-matter confidence.
