ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Grant/Research Writer to support the   

Writing, editing, and managing proposals for Aerospace Medicine, Human Performance Research, and Expeditionary Medicine. Grant writing to Secure funding for research that enhances Force Health Protection, En Route Care, and Operational Medicine. 

Responsibilities

  

· Providing professional research support to assist with the overall Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) research requirements, to include interfacing with USAFSAM/FE leadership and staff, other USAFSAM departments, other subject matter experts, as well as DoD professionals from multiple organizations. 

· Edit and format technical documents, presentation materials, brochures, manuals, and journal articles while following established guidelines 

· Proofread/revise research proposals and provide technical writing/editing consultation, as requested, and clarify material, as required.

· Draft brochures, newsletters, potential website content, research proposals, white papers, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, technical reports, task responses, slide presentations, and posters, in concert with leadership and investigators, as required, with content based on intended audience. 

· Coordinate project activities with 711th and collaborating investigators, and maintain activity tracking system and related files, as requested. 

· Conduct research on potential funding sources, develop funding opportunity databases, and maintain contact with external agencies, as required. 

· Submit proposals for external funding, as required, and act as point of contact (POC) for all follow-on requirements. 

· Assist in the technical review of research proposals submitted to the Aerospace Medicine Studies & Analysis Support branch for funding consideration, as required. 

· Attend and participate in meetings, as required, with government and civilian organizations, academia, and subject matter experts.

·  Conduct scientific literature reviews, as requested.

Requirements

Master(s) degree from an accredited college and/or University.   Master's degree in a scientific field (biological or health sciences related field preferred) 

  • Minimum current five (5) years' experience authoring Defense budget overview policies/strategic guidance and messaging to Congress.
  • Minimum current five (5) years' experience authoring roadmaps, user manuals (SOP), white papers, senior and legislative proposals/briefings, tutorials, and web content.

Experience: 5 years + Previous experience in scientific writing, grant writing, or technical writing within a research or academic environment is highly desired.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding human research techniques, data analysis, and familiarity with military medicine or human performance research.

Skills: Exceptional writing/editing skills, project management, and proficiency in MS Office: MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

· Has 5+ years' experience in research and/or technical writing and editing of research proposals or grants, technical reports, white papers, operating instructions, slide and poster presentations, and peer-reviewed manuscripts. 

· Has research experience in at least one of the following areas: Force Health Protection, Human Performance, Expeditionary Medicine, or Aeromedical Evacuation and Critical Care Air Transport (AE/CCAT), and experience with Air Force and/or AFRL reporting format requirements. 

· Ability to work independently, as well as in teams; attention to detail: excellent organizational skills, ability to achieve set goals; initiative in performing assigned tasks; ability to follow-up complex projects with influence, and integrity; and ability to interact and communicate professionally with all levels of personnel in and outside of the organization. 

· Ability to listen and develop information into research proposals, translate ideas into coherently written text and work collaboratively with researchers from various disciplines. 

Desired Skills: 

· Experience working within the military environment is highly desired.

· Experience with the patent applicant process is desired.

Salary Description
$82,500-$85,000
