Relate Content Marketing is looking for a freelance writer/editor to support ongoing content production.
What the role involves
- Long-form SEO articles (1000–1500 words)
- Short-form content (500–700 words)
- Research and occasional interviews
- Editing and improving existing drafts
- Occasional content refreshes
- Image sourcing or AI image generation
Work is brief-led. Topics, keywords, and direction are provided.
What success looks like
This is the most important part of the role. A successful candidate will:
- Deliver articles that were carefully edited for clarity, flow, and structure
- Remove repetition, filler, and AI-style phrasing
- Catch factual and brand errors
- Maintain a consistent tone throughout a piece
- Make judgment calls on what to cut, keep, or rewrite
- Be a native English speaker
What we're not looking for
This is not the right role if you:
- Treat editing as proofreading (grammar, spelling only)
- Rely heavily on AI without strong editorial revision
Experience
You might be a good fit if you have:
- A journalistic or editorial background
- Experience editing rather than just writing
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Experience working with SEO content
Time & budget
- Up to 40 hours/month currently, potential to increase
- €30/hour
- Remote, freelance
- Flexible working
Trial assignment (paid)
There will be a paid test assignment to write and edit an article to a near-publishable standard.
How to apply
Send me a message and please include:
- CV
- 2–3 relevant writing/editing samples that demonstrate your highest editorial standards
- A short note on your editorial process (how you approach editing a draft)
- Your availability
Final note
This role suits someone who takes pride in clean, finished work and enjoys being the final quality filter before content goes live.
