We're hiring at CryptoSlate: Prop Trading Comparison Writer — freelance.

We're building out CryptoSlate's coverage of prop firms and funded trading — honest reviews and comparisons for traders deciding where to get funded.

This is a hands-on writing role for someone who has actually traded: prop-firm reviews, comparisons, and guides that only work if you understand drawdown rules, payout splits, and how funded accounts operate. AI-first workflows, but accuracy is non-negotiable.

This role is a strong fit for someone with real trading experience who can write clearly and with authority — not a generalist writing about trading from the outside.

The role

About the role

About CryptoSlate

CryptoSlate is one of the most established names in crypto media and data, combining real-time news, market data, and a growing portfolio of review and comparison products.

We are launching a comparison category for prop-trading and funded-account firms: independent reviews, head-to-head comparisons, and buyer guides. It is a your-money niche full of hype and thin content, so accuracy and genuine expertise are what make the work matter.

About the role

We are looking for a writer who has actually traded to produce the content for this category: firm reviews, comparisons, and deal pages that readers rely on before committing money.

This role is for someone who already understands funded trading, not someone looking to learn it from scratch. You should be comfortable explaining challenge rules, drawdown, payouts, and fees clearly and accurately, and writing to a consistent standard at a steady pace.

You will work to a clear brief, a house style guide, and a disclosed ratings methodology, with a credentialed expert fact-checking the reviews for accuracy.

What you will write

  • In-depth prop-firm reviews covering challenge rules, payout proof, fees, pros and cons, and a clear verdict.
  • Head-to-head comparisons showing which firm wins for each kind of trader.
  • Deal and discount pages that explain the terms clearly and honestly.
  • Explainer guides covering funded trading, evaluation versus instant funding, drawdown types, scaling, and consistency rules.

What we are looking for

You should have:

  • Genuine first-hand trading experience across forex, futures, indices, and/or crypto.
  • A real command of prop-firm mechanics, including evaluation versus instant funding, drawdown types, profit targets, consistency rules, payout splits and cycles, and scaling plans.
  • Proven ability to write clear, accurate, SEO-aware content in a your-money-or-your-life niche.
  • A named public byline you are willing to attach, with a real name and headshot rather than a faceless content team.
  • Rigor about facts: you cite sources, use real data, avoid overstating fees or rules, and flag anything you cannot verify.

Nice to have

  • Prop challenges passed, a funded account, or a verifiable equity curve such as MyFxBook or a funded-account dashboard.
  • Formal credentials such as CFA, CMT, or CTA.
  • Existing bylines on prop, forex, or crypto outlets.
  • Openness to an ongoing retainer.

What good performance looks like

  • Reviews and comparisons are accurate, genuinely useful, and trusted by readers making real financial decisions.
  • Reviews earn trust because the detail is right, not because the claims are loud.
  • Firm details stay current as rules, fees, and payouts change.
  • Factual errors and unsupported claims are rare because you check details at the source.
  • The editorial standard remains clear, skeptical, and evidence-first.

Ideal candidate profile

You are trading-literate, SEO-aware, and detail-oriented. You can distinguish a real product feature from a marketing claim, and you know that phrases such as “instant payouts,” “no rules,” or “guaranteed funding” mean little unless a review explains what actually happens, what it costs, and what the trader risks.

You write from experience, not theory, and would rather flag an unverified number than publish it.

What we offer

The biggest thing we offer is not a list of perks: it is that you will get better here. We train constantly, review each other’s work, and grow as a team rather than in silos. Come here to be materially better at what you do a year from now than you are today.

Our culture is simple: work hard, play hard. We push and hold a high bar when it counts, and we genuinely enjoy the work and each other the rest of the time.

These are the values we actually run on:

  • We grow together. Honest feedback, shared playbooks, and skills that compound. Your growth is the point, not a side effect.
  • We own outcomes. Real ownership of your work and results from day one. You are measured on impact, not tickets closed or hours logged.
  • We run on AI. An AI-first, data-driven toolkit, with decisions settled by real data rather than hunches, so your work compounds instead of getting redone.
  • We get things done. A small, senior team of specialists. Fast decisions, no bureaucracy, no busywork, and startup speed at a high standard.
  • A byline that is yours. Named author pages and ownership of reviews traders trust, building your own track record.
  • Flexible and fully remote. Clear expectations and fast feedback.
  • Competitive compensation. Based on experience, skill level, and scope.
