This is a freelance contract role to start, with room to grow as we continue expanding.

Role Description

This is a freelance, remote contract role for a Freelance Writer. The Freelance Writer will be responsible for researching and creating engaging content across a range of outdoor and adventure-focused clients.

Projects may include blog posts, editorial-style articles, website copy, and marketing content. The role involves developing compelling ideas, writing clear and engaging prose, and editing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with each brand’s voice.

Writers will collaborate with the Surf and Snow Collective creative team to align content with brand strategy, SEO goals, and marketing campaigns while meeting deadlines across multiple projects.

This role begins on a freelance contract basis, with the potential for ongoing work as the agency continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Creative Writing, Content Writing, and Research.
• Prior publishing experience with outdoor publications, magazines, or brand blogs.
• Experience writing for outdoor brands, adventure travel companies, or outdoor media.
• Proficient in Proofreading and Content Editing.
• Experience in Copywriting, Blogging, and Editorial Writing.
• Familiar with WordPress, Shopify, and similar CMS platforms.
• Able to develop compelling story ideas and execute long-form content.
• Strategic thinker for content strategy and audience engagement.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Capable of collaborating and incorporating feedback into projects.
• Adaptable in writing across multiple brands and industries.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital publishing tools is a bonus.

Rate

This is a freelance role that will be paid by project or by word. Please share your rates for 750-word and 1,000-word articles.
