🚨 FREELANCE SHIFTS – SUBBING 🚨

Jam Press is looking for freelancers to cover some subbing shifts in January as our regular sub is on leave.

🚨 You need to be comfortable working on a variety of copy and be able to switch from fact-checking hard news to polishing up tabloid-style real life features with ease, and everything in-between.

🚨 The ideal person will have experience working for national media and know how to juggle urgency, accuracy and attention to detail without breaking a sweat.

🚨 You will have the support of our senior editorial staff but please note these shifts are not suitable for an entry level journalist.

🚨 The shifts are remote but we're looking for someone who is based in the UK/same time zone.

I am looking for freelancers to cover some feature writing shifts and commissions – including ad-hoc evening interviews – in December and January (with the possibility of more work).

This will include interviews, profile pieces, brainstorming and idea creation for entrepreneurs, brands, content creators and other high-profile digital influencers.

The ideal person will have a track record of having written features of this kind in the past, excellent phone manner and be able to engage with case studies to deliver great quotes, punchy copy and strong angles to tight deadlines.

Q. Do you need to be in the UK for this?

A. Ideally yes for the shifts but some of the commissions are calls with case studies in the US so we are open to freelancers based in other countries too.
