✈️ Nearly 9 months after we acquired Energy Central, I'm prouder every day of the original content we're publishing and the big editorial swings we're taking. The theme for this quarter? Bigger, bolder, better.

🔋 So we need some super bright team members to join the fun and help us publish best-in-class newsletters that are 1) focused on quality > quantity and 2) deeply tuned into the interests, ideas, and needs of today's electric utility professionals.

💡 We're looking for freelance/contract pros who can help us curate and contextualize energy news for a growing audience. Energy experience preferred, newsletter experience extra preferred.

These are the big questions we’re answering every day at Energy Central. We’re powering a community of 250K energy professionals with the connections, news, and insights they need to meet the growing challenges of today’s utility industry.

And we’re growing the team responsible for bringing that content to life. 

Energy Central is seeking a part-time newsletter writer to help curate, write, fact-check, and edit our Daily and Weekly newsletters. These newsletters are curated collections of the headlines, insights, and innovations that impact both the day-to-day and the big picture for power professionals. We focus on brevity, accuracy, readability, and creativity to ensure our news-based emails are can’t-miss content for Energy Central’s growing readership.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with the Energy Central editorial team to curate and write top-notch daily newsletters covering the most important headlines in the business of energy
• Stay on top of electric utility news, with a keen eye for impact and a creative approach to finding stories our readers won’t see anywhere else
• Attend regular meetings with the Energy Central content and community teams to develop content strategy, maintain flawless workflows, and commit to improvement‍

What we're looking for:

• Professional writing and/or journalism experience, newsletter experience preferred
• A well-honed ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it succinctly
• A firm grasp of the energy industry, ideally including experience writing about or covering it
• Curiosity and creativity‍
