Who we are
Sherman Research has been doing this since 1999. We're an SEC-registered firm in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho that builds signal-driven research, model portfolios, and technology for financial professionals.
The core of the business is a patented set of six proprietary indicators tracking short, medium, long, and seasonal timeframes. When momentum shifts in either direction, the system triggers a real-time signal. Advisors use those signals to make disciplined allocation decisions instead of guessing. That research sits underneath more than fifty Advance and Protect™ tactical allocation portfolios, plus the Sherman Launch System, the Command Module, and the Portfolio Toolkit.
Roughly 300 independent advisors, RIA firms, broker-dealers, and platform partners use our work, representing close to $2 billion in client assets. In 2026, WealthAdvisor named True Freedom Investing the fastest-growing TAMP in America. Sherman Research is the engine underneath it. Through our enterprise relationships, our research advises one in every five trades on the US stock market.
Two things to know before you apply.
Why this role exists
We have the research. We don't have anyone who turns it into something a normal person will read, on a deadline, week after week.
We're building a consumer-facing content engine. Short pieces, pegged to the news, easy to scan, published on a rhythm, and written inside Sherman's philosophy instead of sounding like every other market commentary. It's a new stream, separate from our advisor products.
Who you're writing for
A W-2 employee in his late forties with money to invest, who's either frozen or sitting with an advisor who does nothing for him. He's smart, he's not a professional, and he's reading on his phone.
Write at his level without writing down to him.
The critical constraint: you translate, you don't originate
Sherman's research team owns the market view. Models, signals, macro read, all of it. You never author an original market call. Your job is to take what the desk produces and turn it into a narrative that lands.
If you want a job where you make the calls, this isn't it. What we're offering is the craft problem: making a rules-based system feel urgent and human, every day.
The cadence
The philosophy you'd be writing inside
Sherman is trend following and momentum. Here's what that does to the writing.

What you don't own
What a week looks like
Async and deadline-driven. You manage your own time and hit dates without being chased. Deadlines are hard.

Every piece clears compliance review before publication. No performance claims, no forward-looking predictions, no personalized advice. Disclosure language is standard and non-negotiable.
