Freelance Editorial Content Strategist & Copywriter (Retainer-Based, Long-Term Collaboration)

We’re looking for a versatile, forward-thinking Editorial Content Strategist & Copywriter to both shape and execute our clients’ content across borders. If you can jump from high-level content planning to hands-on copywriting without missing a beat, we’d love to work with you!
This is a freelance position based on a monthly retainer, where hours may vary based on project needs and client volume. This role gives equal weight to content strategy and copywriting, and you will be expected to both define the direction of content and consistently produce high-quality written deliverables.

What you’ll do:
- Develop and refine editorial strategies that align with client goals, brand voice and target audience needs, while translating those strategies into compelling, high-performing written content.
- Create content pillars, editorial calendars and style guides to ensure long-term consistency.
- Audit existing content to identify gaps, opportunities for improvement, and localization needs.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure strategic goals are met across different languages and platforms.
- Execute copywriting deliverables, including writing high-quality blog posts, website content, social media copy, emails, newsletters and other marketing materials aligned with the strategy you’ve defined.
- Brief writers and editors on strategic direction to ensure all content hits the mark from the first draft, while also taking ownership of key pieces yourself from concept to final delivery.
Types of projects: We provide our clients with a wide array of projects, including:
- Creative content: blog posts, website content, opinion pieces, informative articles
- Marketing content: emails, newsletters, paid media
- Social media content: platform-specific strategies and copy (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.)
- Technical content: white papers, technical analyses
- Translations: localized marketing campaigns and editorial content in over 30 languages
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in content strategy and copywriting, preferably in an agency or global brand environment.
- The ability to think big-picture (strategy) while being a master of details (writing).
- A strong understanding of SEO, audience segmentation and content distribution.
- Native-level English skills; proficiency in other languages (especially Spanish) is a significant plus.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude and the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Experience integrating AI tools into content workflows, or a strong willingness to learn and experiment with them.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both strategic thinking (content plans, audits, frameworks) and strong editorial execution (published articles, campaigns, social copy, etc.).
