Features Writer

My team at Popular Mechanics is seeking seasoned features writers who have the reporting and writing skills to take on assignments covering some of the most pressing science and technology issues in our current moment. Pieces are generally in the realm of 3,000-4,000 words.

Beyond the science & tech beat, I'm looking for someone adept at creative nonfiction techniques—think: cinematic scene-writing; prose that stops the reader in their tracks; unique and layered scaffolding to honor the narrative with the best-possible structure; and experience perfecting tone.
