I have been thinking about this hiring for some time now.

After many discussions with people who already have someone working in a similar role, along with understanding what I truly need, I’ve finally put together a clear picture of the role.

This is an unusual role, at least according to me. And I have very clear expectations.

Someone in the early days of their career, who wants to eventually build a service business of their own, would probably be the right fit for this.

All the bullet points are non-negotiable. Everything else is pretty much negotiable.

Please help me find someone who can help me build The Wise Idiot better.

Executive Assistant to Founder

Location: Remote/Hybrid

This role can prepare you for any service business, so if your ambition is to start a marketing agency or a service business in the next 2–3 years, this would be amazing.

• I need someone who has a lot of empathy inbuilt. Every time you see the world, you see it from multiple perspectives and people's stories. You love people and you want to solve people's problems.
• You need to love reading and consuming educational content. From day one, the ask would be to start reading non-fiction books, fiction can be your hobby and you can continue - but for me, you would read a lot of books, ones I love and ones that I think would be important for you. Apart from that, you may be subscribing to many newsletters, Substacks, etc. So a lot of reading and other content consumption.
• You would be talking to a lot of internal teams, consultants, and vendors, along with shadowing me in many other meetings. This means you need to keep observing on the go and making notes on what's happening. You would be asked to do many spontaneous things all the time.
• My work-life balance is erratic. I work very late at night and have all the crazy ideas around that time. Along with that, I take up meetings very late at night with global folks, you may be asked to attend them.
• Communication is the most important part of the job. It's important that you articulate well - as a speaker and as a writer.
