StoryLeads writes for about 92 lawyers and legal vendors as of today. And I am actively looking for someone to replace me. π
We're looking for an Editorial Lead.
And this role is special (if I do say so myself).
Before I even worked at Storyleads, I had worked at a couple different agencies and freelanced a bunch. I was pretty confident about my skills lol. But being in an Editorial Lead position humbles you.
- You are forced to defend your decisions on why you want to edit something
- You are the final barrier between a copywriter's work and the client seeing it
- You are forced to be creative with your hooks
- You are forced to understand different tones of voice in a limited amount of time
I got all of this and so much more because of the range of clients I had to work across. And we're looking to double almost double that by end of year. It is one hell of a learning curve. If you've been freelancing with a limited set of clients or you've been wanting to sharpen your editorial instincts across different tones and industries - this would be perfect.
Plus lawyers are the best kind of clients to work for. You will never be bored :)
I'm looking for someone who can:
- Write a better hook than me
- Understands LinkedIn. If you're obsessed and on this platform 24/7, even better
- Has TASTE. You know how content can land if done well
- Understands flow. You can pick out if a post is cluttered, knows which topics need to be fleshed out, can tell if a piece needs to go in the bin - and will push back if you feel strongly about it
- Is looking for a STEEP learning curve
- Has been actively writing for themselves on LinkedIn
- Understands tone and humor.
- Understands strategy. You can look at a post and ask: what is this about, who is it for, and does it fit into a broader strategy
- Can understand AI copy. Can understand human-edited AI copy as well.
- Is comfortable working at a fast-moving agency.
What you'll be doing:
- QA-ing posts from our copywriters before they reach clients
- Making recommendations on strategy
- Slowly learning how our content operations work at scale
- Being onboarded onto our workflows
- Training our copywriters on what works
This role is completely remote BUT:
- You need to be working EST hours (ideally 8am-4pm)
- Need to commit to a 2-week PAID trial
- Be able to take calls with clients during that 8-4pm window
If this sounds like you, send me a loom on your experience + some samples + LinkedIn link with the email subject line: βEditorial Leasβ to [click apply]. I'll be connecting with you soon!
P.s - No, Iβm not going anywhere
Look at my βcould this be you?β Face
