Girl Friday Productions is a women-led book production company and publisher committed to high-quality books and transformative client relationships. Our team publishes authors in a range of genres through GFB and Flashpoint Books hybrid programs and provides indie authors with the care and caliber of a traditional publishing program. We also partner with established publishers to provide distinctive editorial and design production for their lists. We are a close group headquartered in Seattle and scattered across the country, fueled by our love of storytelling and a belief that our industry should reflect a greater diversity of voices and experiences.
You are a dynamic and enthusiastic book lover eager to support our in-house publishing managers with trade and industry book production. You juggle a lot but rarely drop balls because you have rock-solid project management skills. Working independently and as part of a team on diverse tasks, you are an excellent communicator with an innate understanding of who needs to know what when. You’re curious and open to learning new best practices and you actively seek them out. You’re excited about the idea of bringing your skills to a small, people-first company that is committed to their team’s well-being. And, at the end of the day, you love a good book just as much as we do.
The Editorial Assistant will work closely with our publishing managers; our design, marketing, and editorial departments; and clients to effectively produce and publish book projects. GFP Publishing Managers guide authors through the publishing process, step by step, to produce beautiful books with top-quality editing and design. Specifically, the Editorial Assistant’s duties include:
