Sundress Publications is an entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit publishing collective founded in 2000 that hosts a variety of online journals and publishes chapbooks, full-length collections, and literary anthologies in both print and digital formats. As part of Sundress Publications’ ongoing commitment to service and the importance of highlighting work from the independent publishing community, Sundress created the blog series, Sundress Reads, which features reviews of recent or forthcoming titles from small presses.
The Sundress Reads Editor’s primary responsibility is work with a team of interns and outside reviewers to give feedback on reviews prior to drafting them on WordPress. The editor will make sure reviews are assigned out, completed, edited, and drafted online as part of the process.
Applicants should have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching literary review writing and helping others develop the critical reading, analytical, and writing skills needed to produce thoughtful, engaging reviews. The ideal candidate enjoys mentoring writers at all experience levels, fostering constructive discussion, and encouraging close engagement with contemporary literature.
The position will require approximately 2-4 hours of work per week.

Applicants are welcome to telecommute and therefore are not restricted to living in any particular location. Sundress Publications is staffed entirely by volunteers, so this position, as with all positions at the press, is unpaid. All Sundress staff receive opportunities to attend residencies and retreats at discounted prices, teach in our workshop series, and read for contests and open reading periods.
