WILD is seeking a Digital Communications & Storytelling Manager to lead and execute all digital content and social media efforts for the organization.
This is a hands-on content creation role. Content is the core responsibility of this position. The individual in this role will create, plan, publish, manage, and measure digital content across all platforms while helping WILD better understand what resonates with its community and how digital storytelling can support conservation visibility and fundraising.
This role combines day-to-day content execution with strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable writing and designing posts, analyzing performance data, developing campaign concepts, translating complex conservation work into accessible narratives, and engaging respectfully with Indigenous and local communities.
1. Social Media Leadership & Execution
•Serve as the primary owner of WILD’s social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X/Twitter
•Create original, compelling content aligned with WILD’s mission and voice
•Develop and manage a structured content calendar with consistent daily posting goals (e.g., one post per day across platforms)
•Plan themes, messaging, and deployment timing across platforms
•Publish, monitor, and respond to comments and community engagement
•Translate complex science, policy, and field-based work into accessible and engaging content
•Collaborate directly with program managers, scientists, policy experts, and Indigenous partners to gather stories and ensure accuracy
2. Storytelling & Development Communications
•Develop blog content and long-form storytelling pieces that elevate program work
•Support project teams in clarifying and refining their narratives
•Edit and copywrite content for website pages, project updates, and organizational communications
•Ensure storytelling reflects cultural humility and responsible communications practices
•Work effectively and respectfully with Indigenous communities, demonstrating patience, listening, and relational communication skills
•Translate conversations with diverse stakeholders into accurate, respectful, and compelling public-facing content
3. Fundraising-Focused Campaign Development
•Develop and execute social media campaigns designed to support fundraising efforts
•Build and nurture online communities that convert engagement into donor support
•Analyze past campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve fundraising outcomes
•Bring demonstrated experience in raising funds through digital campaigns
•Collaborate with development leadership while maintaining clarity of role boundaries Experience building digital communities that support funding growth is required.
4. Analytics, Growth & Optimization
•Track social media performance metrics to assess growth, engagement, and impact
• Identify what content resonates most with WILD’s audience
•Use data to inform strategy and refine messaging
•Report regularly on performance and recommend improvements
•Utilize Google Analytics and Google Ads to support traffic and fundraising goals
•Bring an experimental mindset to testing formats, messaging, and audience engagement strategies
Measuring impact and demonstrating growth will be critical to success in this role.
5. Strategic Communications Contribution
•Contribute meaningfully to WILD’s emerging communications strategy
•Provide input into the organization’s developing 1-year and 5-year communications plan
•Participate in strategic planning discussions and offer data-informed recommendations
•Help shape digital priorities as part of the broader organizational strategy
WILD is currently developing its strategic communications framework, and this role will be woven into that effort. Ability to contribute to strategic planning is strongly preferred
