Inkwell Games started from a simple idea: making classic pen-and-paper logic games as fun and social as word games. We’ve reimagined them for the digital age: thoughtfully crafted daily puzzles that challenge your logical thinking, keep your brain sharp, build healthy screen time habits, and bring recreational math into everyday life.

Inkwell’s audience splits roughly into two camps: a 60+ brain health crowd that’s aging gracefully and staying mentally active, and a broader group looking to reduce mindless scrolling, whether they’re frequent travelers, new parents awake at 2am, or trying to break up with the algorithms.

Marketing has been founder-run so far: you’ll be inheriting a strong email list, an active TikTok presence, an engaged community, and the early signs of real virality. The product is working, the audience is growing, and the marketing function needs a real owner.

The role

You'll own social media strategy and execution, our influencer and creator programs, and eventually other channels (email? events? offline?). All in service of one goal: helping more people discover Inkwell.

Fair warning, this is a volume job. We're not looking for one perfect video a week. We're looking for someone who treats content like a factory floor, dozens of pieces flowing out weekly across formats, testing hooks, doubling down on what lands, and moving on fast from what doesn't. As long as it's on brand, you'll get a lot of leeway to experiment. No lengthy approval chains here.

Day to day, you will:

Run the content engine

  • Own the content strategy and calendar across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Script, shoot, edit, and publish, at a real clip
  • Explore YouTube Shorts and help us figure out if and how we go after it
  • Use Anastasia and the team as on-camera resources when it makes sense, but drive the calendar yourself
  • Bring a steady stream of content ideas rooted in the puzzles themselves, our brand values, the community, and what's working in short-form right now

Build the influencer and creator program

  • Source, vet, and onboard new influencers and micro-creators in our audience pockets
  • Maintain and grow those relationships over time; we want Inkwell to be as successful for them as they can be for us
  • Maintain guidelines and messaging memos to ensure consistent storytelling

Partner on strategy

  • Work with Anastasia on brand pillars and storyline, you don't have to invent it alone
  • Live in the numbers. TikTok analytics, Instagram insights, PostHog, wherever the signal is, you're checking it regularly and letting it steer the next batch of content, without getting stuck in analysis paralysis
  • Bring outside perspective and instinct on where the puzzle and brain-health/mindful-phone-use space is heading

A little about you

  • Not your first rodeo.Β 3-6 years running social and/or influencer marketing, ideally for a consumer brand or app.
  • A creator-operator.Β You know how short-form video actually gets made because you've made it before.
  • Genuinely strong design instincts.Β You know good from mediocre, and you can produce good yourself. You'll design thumbnails, graphics, and on-brand visual assets. Canva is fine, but your eye needs to be sharp.
  • High ownership and follow-through.Β You make a plan, communicate it, execute, and follow through. You give estimates and honor them, or speak up when things change.
  • You love puzzles and games.Β You don't have to be a sudoku savant on day one, but the joy has to be real; it comes through in everything we make.
  • Comfort in chaos.Β Priorities shift. You adapt, and you ask for help when you need it.
  • Async fluency.Β We work across time zones with a great team of full time and part time folks. You can move independently while staying connected.

Out of scope

  • No need to do customer support or engage with commenters and DMs (we have a fantastic community lead)
  • Paid ads (we’re solid on Google and Facebook, but if you know TikTok, let us know!)
  • Eventually, we’d love to add retention marketing to this role, but for now, we’ll keep it focused on acquisition

Location

Fully remote. Open to candidates in the Americas. We need at least a few hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time.

And if you happen to live in the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado, let’s definitely talk :)

Compensation and benefits

Salary is relative to your location and experience, competitive for an early-stage startup. We also offer the following to full time employees:

  • Startup equity (we see real upside here, and we want someone who does too)
  • Generous PTO (currently unlimited and only tracked to make sure you actually take it!)
  • Health insurance reimbursement (where applicable)
  • Retirement plan (where applicable)

Salary range is $55,000–$80,000 dependent on location and experience. Exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates.

Contractors looking for part time work will also be considered at a higher rate.
