Freelance Opportunity: Creative Writer/ Editor for Book Summaries
I m looking for skilled freelance editors to edit, refine, and proofread nonfiction book summaries on a weekly basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with ideas, structure, and language, and who can transform AI-generated or draft summaries into polished, engaging, and coherent editorial pieces.
In this role, you will be responsible for improving the clarity, flow, and narrative quality of book summaries while strictly following Wiser’s editorial checklist and style guidelines. You will be improving transitions, refining chapter titles, and ensuring each summary reads naturally and engagingly from start to finish.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Editing and refining 2500-3000 words book summaries to improve coherence, readability, and narrative flow.
The summary consists of about section, introduction, 4–8 main chapters, and a conclusion. You will be required write smooth transitions between chapters that subtly build curiosity and maintain momentum
Polishing language to avoid repetitive sentence structures, AI-like phrasing, and robotic tone.
Applying detailed style rules related to punctuation, formatting, abbreviations, audiobook readability, and overall consistency.
