Tapping into my creative network to see if anyone knows of a Copy Editor with creative agency experience who is currently freelancing and able to take on 10-30 hours of work per week. I have an opportunity with a leading streaming entertainment client for a freelancer to help edit short-form content for emails and push/in-app notifications following AP style. This is an hourly W-2 role and is fully remote in the US.
Editing to add the must-haves for the Copy Editor role:
- Currently freelancing or between jobs (you cannot be in a current full-time job)
- Experience editing short-form marketing campaigns with creative agency experience, working on a variety of clients
- NOT a copywriter: you MUST have professional experience as an editor

Copy Editor
Copy Editor Key Responsibilities:
- Content Review & Editing: Edit and proofread copy for a wide range of seasonal moments and catalog campaigns — from series launches to holiday promotions — to ensure clarity, accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives and brand guidelines.
- This may include developing and evaluating assets with approved Generative AI tools.
- Quality Control: Ensure all email, push and in-app notification copy is engaging, on-brand and optimized for conversion, while maintaining consistency in tone, style and messaging across all channels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Creative Labs, Consumer Messaging Program and Merchandising teams to review content, provide constructive feedback to writers and ensure messaging aligns with overall campaign goals.
- Brand Voice Stewardship: Uphold and enforce our brand voice and tone, adapting content appropriately for different activations and audiences while ensuring all copy consistently reflects brand standards.
- Best Practices & Optimization: Stay up-to-date on email and push notification best practices, and support the implementation of A/B testing and performance analysis by providing editorial insights and recommendations for copy improvements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline editorial processes and enhance quality control workflows to support the creative team’s efficiency and output.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in copy editing, quality control or a related editorial role, with a focus on marketing, email and/or push notification content.
- Exceptional editing, proofreading and fact-checking skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of email and push notification best practices and the ability to apply these in an editorial context.
- Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to writers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with A/B testing, performance analysis and copy optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with Airtable or similar project management tools is a plus.
- Experience working at a production, entertainment company or creative agency is a plus.
