Contributing Editor
MoneywiseMoneywise is growing — and hiring!
Due to popular demand, we're expanding our editorial team into new markets and bringing on fresh talent to help us tell better stories about money, markets, and the people shaping both.
Here's what's open right now:
- Contributing Editor (Full-Time). Now accepting applicants in New York and New Jersey! This is a hybrid writer/editor role for anyone with a passion for both reporting and polishing others' work. You'll shape stories about the world of money: personal finance, the economy, markets, and the voices driving the conversation — and play a crucial role in our growing newsroom.
- Freelance Writer (Remote). We're looking for someone who loves writing about personal finance, investing, retirement, financial experts, CEOs and billionaires, megacap companies, the economy, and so much more.
- Freelance Weekend Writer (Remote). All of the above, but on a Friday-to-Monday schedule. You'll work with a small team of intrepid weekend editors to produce content for the end of the week, and the start of each new week.
Millions of people read Moneywise every single day, and we're just getting started. If any of these roles sound like a great fit for you, please reach out. About Wise Publishing:
Wise Publishing, Inc. is a digital publisher and technology company. Our core products are Moneywise.com and Money.ca, personal finance brands serving the U.S. and Canada, respectively, which reach tens of millions of people each month. Our goal is to help readers understand the world of money, make better decisions, and live a richer life.
About the Position:
Moneywise.com is growing, and we’re expanding the editorial team. We’re looking for a Contributing Editor to help shape our reporting.
This is a hybrid writer-editor role on a dual track: roughly half your time is spent reporting,
drafting and filing original articles for Moneywise.com’s U.S. audience; the other half is spent
editing, fact-checking, optimizing and syndicating the work of other writers and freelancers.
You’ll thrive here if you have a passion for business, money, and finance, including personal finance, investing, P&C insurance, taxes, estate planning, real estate, mortgages, banking, retirement planning, retail trends, the economy, and much more. If you’re passionate about writing, editing, and shaping a newsroom,, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
● Pitch, report and write original news and feature articles for Moneywise, sourced from
reports, filings, court documents, disclosures, interviews and data
● Write with a clear point of view in Moneywise’s voice — specific people, specific dollar
amounts, sharp framing — not generic informational filler
● Edit and fact-check the work of staff writers and freelancers for accuracy, structure,
clarity and AP style, across varied publication timelines
● Uphold our editorial standards and style guide so tone and voice stay consistent across
the site
● Optimize content for monetization through responsible affiliate marketing
● Own syndication end to end — suggest what fits each partner, meet their formatting
requirements and file independently
● Track how published and syndicated articles perform, and use that data to sharpen both
your own work and our editorial process
● Give writers clear, direct and constructive feedback, and contribute to editorial meetings
and the pitch approval process
● Manage overlapping deadlines across your writing and editing workstreams
