About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Content Strategist who brings a strong foundation in content writing alongside a deep understanding of how content strategy drives performance. This role is ideal for someone who not only creates high-quality website content, but also understands how that content fits within a broader ecosystem, spanning SEO, AI-driven discovery, and the full user journey.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for writing and optimizing high-impact web content that balances brand voice, emotional connection, and conversion. At the same time, you’ll play a key role in shaping content direction by contributing to topic planning, content structuring, and optimization strategies that improve visibility across search engines and emerging AI platforms.

You’ll help ensure content is well-written, purpose-built, grounded in research, aligned to user intent, and structured to perform. This includes department support, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and measurable impact across all digital touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Define and lead the overarching content strategy aligned to business objectives, including pipeline growth, customer acquisition, and brand authority
  • Develop scalable content frameworks, including topic clusters, funnel-based strategies (TOFU/MOFU/BOFU), and editorial roadmaps
  • Identify and prioritize key themes, topics, and initiatives based on audience needs and market opportunities
  • Map content strategies to audience segments, personas, and stages of the buyer journey

Research & Opportunity Identification

  • Lead keyword, topic, and entity research to identify high-impact content opportunities
  • Analyze search engine results pages (SERPs), AI Overviews, and generative search trends to inform strategy
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify content gaps, opportunities, and areas for differentiation
  • Partner with analytics teams to surface insights that guide content direction and prioritization

Information Architecture & Content Structure

  • Define and optimize content architecture, including site structure, taxonomy, and internal linking strategies
  • Standardize content types and templates (e.g., pillar pages, blog content, landing pages, glossaries)
  • Ensure content is structured for discoverability, usability, and scalability across platforms

Content Development & Production Oversight

  • Develop detailed content briefs that guide writers, designers, and contributors
  • Write and optimize website content including homepages, service pages, landing pages, location pages, blog posts, and other high-value content based on strategy and opportunity
  • Help to oversee content production to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with strategic goals and team workflows
  • Establish and maintain editorial standards, voice, and messaging guidelines

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for content performance, including traffic, engagement, conversions, and pipeline impact
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools and reporting platforms
  • Lead ongoing content optimization efforts, including updates, refreshes, and consolidation
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve underperforming content

SEO & AIO

  • Ensure content is optimized for both traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery platforms
  • Develop strategies to increase visibility in AI Overviews, featured snippets, and generative search results
  • Structure content to enhance clarity, authority, and contextual relevance for search engines and AI systems
  • Stay current with evolving search trends and integrate new best practices into content strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Content Governance

  • Partner with teams to align content with broader marketing initiatives
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across all channels and touchpoints
  • Create documentation, playbooks, and training materials to support team alignment and execution
  • Continuously refine processes to improve performance and scalability
  • Maintain content quality, accuracy, and consistency across all digital properties
  • Manage content lifecycle, including creation, updates, consolidation, and retirement
  • Prevent content duplication, cannibalization, and misalignment across the site
  • Ensure compliance with brand, legal, and industry standards

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in content strategy, SEO, or digital marketing
  • Proven experience developing and executing scalable, performance-driven content strategies
  • Deep understanding of SEO, content architecture, and modern search behavior, including AI-driven search
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing content production at scale
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

All employees begin on a 90-day contract period. After the contract, you will be considered for full-time employment. All full-time employees are eligible for paid time off, holiday pay, medical insurance, and 401K match.

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
