Hello from Growth Story!

Growth Story is a boutique branding and marketing studio that blends strategy with storytelling to help professional service providers (think law firms, financial groups, coaches, consultants) own their expertise and show up professionally online. We believe in thoughtful, impactful work, clear communication, and a culture that respects both our clients’ goals and our team’s well-being.

If you’ve been hoping for more purpose in your work, our entrepreneurial team could be a great fit. We’re a small (growing) founder-led business and what we love most about our work is how the work we do gives our clients an immediate confidence boost. We hope you love it too.

We’re looking for a content specialist who wants to grow with us.

We are looking for a strong writer with SEO experience to support our content and marketing work on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, working independently, and taking ownership of content so it actually gets finished and published.

While we’re starting small with this role, we do envision that the right person would grow with us to become a core part of our strategic marketing engine. You’ll start at 10 hours per week, although depending on the work, this might fluctuate a bit. Right now we need someone for our own internal marketing efforts, but the right person could potentially grow into client facing work.

The role is structured as a three-month contract with the intent to convert to a W-2 part-time hire as we confirm it’s a good mutual fit. We may either conclude the contract after three months or we may make an offer. We will make our decision process as transparent as possible so there aren’t any surprises.

Please read to the end, because it’s important to us that you’re thorough!

What you’ll be responsible for

You’ll own the execution of ongoing content and marketing work, including:

  • Writing long-form content: Drafting, editing, and publishing 1 blog post every other week based on existing ideas, SEO inputs, and brand positioning. Writing needs to be clear, thoughtful, story-forward, and aligned with Growth Story’s voice.
  • SEO Research + Strategy: Understanding SEO and AI search best practices, suggesting blog topics from intent-based keyword research, creating on-page SEO strategies including target keywords, titles, meta descriptions, and suggested heading hierarchy.
  • Creating case studies and proof assets: Turning completed client projects into concise, compelling case studies that highlight outcomes and strategy according to what our audience needs most.
  • Social media content & repurposing: Creating and scheduling Pinterest and Instagram content by repurposing blogs, case studies, and other long-form assets.
  • Project management & follow-through: Tracking work and time, communicating progress proactively, and making sure content moves forward without reminders.
  • Process follow-through and improvement: Following existing templates, workflows, and Looms, and after you master them, gradually making them smoother over time. Come with ideas.

Who we’re looking for

  • You are a strong writer and storyteller (this is non-negotiable)
  • Familiarity with SEO research and keyword selection
  • You’ve worked in marketing, branding, content roles where both long-form and short-form content is needed. You have a strong sense of how to adapt your style to different audiences.
  • You’re comfortable working independently and part-time
  • You like clear expectations, you’re a stickler for timelines, and you pride yourself on doing quality work.
  • Wordpress doesn’t scare you; you’ve worked in it before
  • Basic experience with graphic design and layouts (you at least have opinions on what’s good)
  • You’re curious, dependable, and open to learning

We’d also LOVE to find:

  • Experience with Elementor, Clickup, Squarespace, Semrush, Adobe products, and Canva or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of social media best practices, especially LinkedIn and Instagram (and how they’re different)
  • Agency or founder-led business experience

The capabilities we care most about

We’re less interested in a perfect resume and more interested in how you work.

We’ll prioritize candidates who show strength in these capabilities:

  • Self-Driven: You take responsibility and initiative for moving your work forward and don’t wait to be told what to do next. You’re a person who takes initiative and comes up with a plan of action.
  • Prioritization: You can manage multiple tasks and brands, and make sensible decisions without needing constant input.
  • Big-picture thinking: You get how your work connects to the bigger picture and can work a few steps farther than an assignment because you think about the impacts of your work.

Process optimization and adaptability matter too, especially in a growing founder-led business, but the three above are key.

How we work together

  • We value clarity, kindness, and direct communication
  • We don’t expect late nights, weekend work, or being “always on” (but we do expect you to take the initiative to manage and communicate about your deadlines and workflow)
  • We care about doing great work without burnout culture
  • We assume positive intent and take ownership when things need to change
