OGM's content team is expanding, and we are looking for a Content Marketing Writer to join our ranks!
If you care deeply about content quality, enjoy experimenting with AI, obsess over how content drives growth, and are energized by where this field is headed, this might be the perfect role.
One of the best parts of working at OGM is the team itself. It’s a group of smart, good people who care about doing great work and helping each other grow. We give each other a lot of autonomy and pair it with a supportive environment and clear expectations. You get trust, ownership, and a team that always has your back.
And to be clear: this isn’t an “article factory” role. It’s for someone who wants to level up as a writer, strategist, and operator.
In this role, you’ll:
• Use content to directly drive pipeline and revenue
• Work with fast-growing SaaS companies
• Write, edit, optimize, and experiment with AI-enabled workflows
• Work with a director of content and growth advisors to come up with new ways of helping clients
We have internal guidelines, workflows, research systems, and thoughtful AI processes to help you move faster. But at the end of the day, what matters most is great content taste. You know what exceptional content looks and feels like, and you are committed to producing it.
If that sounds like you (or someone you know), check out the full job description in the comments and apply.
The JD should answer most of your questions, but I’m always happy to chat.

We are working to be THE BEST organic partner for fast-growing SaaS companies, and we need your help!

-
This role is perfect for someone who (click toggle to read more):
- Is looking for a job that involves a lot of writing, but isn’t just an article factory with no line of sight into “why”
- Thrives on product-led writing and enjoys digging into SaaS products, ICPs, and customer journeys so content drives business outcomes, not just traffic
- Takes accountability seriously and is reliable, responsive, and proud of delivering excellent work without needing close oversight.
- Is excited about AI-enabled workflows and already uses tools like ChatGPT or Claude (ideally with some exposure to automation tools like AirOps) to enhance creativity, speed, and insight without replacing real thinking.
- Is hungry to learn what drives performance in AI search and wants to understand how content impacts pipeline and revenue, even if not yet an SEO/AEO expert.
- Balances independence with collaboration and communicates proactively within a remote team while valuing autonomy to work in the style that suits them best.
- Enjoys variety in agency work and creation, editing, optimization, and writing of various content types (briefs, articles, landing pages, case studies, etc.) across a small and focused client set (3–4 max) sounds energizing, not chaotic
- Cares deeply about quality and welcomes scrutiny from smart partners while holding their work to a high bar for quality as well.
-
Company = Organic Growth Marketing (OGM), technically an SEO/AEO agency, but not a typical one. More on us later.
- We work with fast-growing, world-class companies like Ramp, Intercom, Hotjar, ProfitWell, Segment, ActiveCampaign (and more) to scale nonpaid user acquisition.
- We’re tech-enabled (aka, building our own tools to automate boring stuff)
- We’re a small team of ~17 (including you!)
- Our website: https://www.marketingog.com/
- We are seeing strong early success with our AI Search processes, tools, and framework — you'll get to help us learn and evolve these
-
Job Title = Content Marketing Writer
- Junior or mid-level, depending on your experience
- We are calling it this because a) It’s definitely content marketing, but; b) a lot of the role is writing, and we don’t want to misrepresent it!
-
Job Role: Support content development for our customers, working across a portfolio of companies and workflows, including:
- Creating content briefs for in-house editorial teams
- Performing article refreshes and optimizations — for both traffic and conversion purposes (including directly in the CMS of billion-dollar companies!)
- Writing articles (with the help of AI workflows)
- Editing / proofreading articles from freelancers
- Creating or assisting with landing pages, case studies, and other content types
- Potentially help with image creation and multimedia (full disclosure, we are early here, but open to anyone who can help us level up)
- See more here: About the Role
-
Experience Required = While much of this role is “writing”, in reality — as any writer / content marketer knows! — it requires a diverse set of skills, experience, and interests.
- You have written - and edited - content for complex products and audiences
- You have strong experience working in B2B SaaS, understanding complex products and buyer journeys.
- In-house experience is great and will get our attention, but if not, you have extensive experience in a freelancer/agency capacity.
- You are very curious about AI workflows and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc), and have spent time tinkering on your own, or within other roles.
- More on our approach to AI here: Our approach to AI
- Bonus points if you have experience creating non-text content, such as visuals or video.
- You are excited about a mix of writing and editing work across different workflows.
- You want exposure to - and reps with - the performance and analysis side of content. We combine various data sources within our home-grown data platform, so you’ll quickly learn more about how to measure the success of your work.
- You are interested in learning more about SEO, AEO, content strategy, and how to turn words into dollars.
Strong attention to detail, taking pride in your work, and learning quickly will take you further than most ‘experience’ can.
-
Location = 100% remote = wherever you are, with enough overlap with US time that you can collaborate with the team and hop on calls during part of your day (don’t worry, no late-night call expectations!). We are not a set-hours or butts-in-seats kind of company whatsoever, but given the collaboration with others it’s important that you grow into the role while being able to get fast feedback from your peers.
- We have team members in North America, Europe, and South Africa.
-
Work Culture = A lot of ownership and accountability, mixed with the support of processes and people with whom you'll work closely. We don't have a lot of team-wide meetings, and you'll have regular (but not redundant) calls with functional units within the company. Otherwise, the world is your oyster! Create the schedule that suits you, as long as you get work done and give your team the support they need.
- We are a premium services company, which means we hold ourselves to a VERY high bar in terms of the work we deliver, paying attention to the details, and being accountable for success. The flip side: we want to give A players room to operate and do their thing.
-
Compensation
- Compensation range starting at USD $45K - $50K annually, but it can really vary depending on your background and readiness. We're looking at a wide range of candidates **across the experience spectrum, which will influence what kind of role you step into on Day 1. At this point, we want intros to great people, and we can talk about compensation upfront to see if it's a fit.
- Base + profit sharing once you reach the FT stage — you'll have skin in the game!
- $200 monthly remote working stipend
- $500 Home office budget
- $150 monthly food stipend, to do whatever you want at restaurants and grocery stores (via our client, Ramp!)
- Health stipend via QSEHRA for US-based folks
- Generous vacation policy, including mandated 2+ week consecutive vacation (meaning, you have to take 2 weeks off in a row), and expectation that you’ll take at least 28 days off per year (time off is important!)
- Team offsites once per year, where the whole company gets together in person for a working week
- Dope swag that will make your friends jealous
-
Employment structure:
- You’ll start as a contractor for 3 months; once we both determine it’s a good fit, you’ll become a full-time member of the team and have the option for full employment
Many job descriptions are quick and generic, leaving you with lots of questions. This is meant to be a comprehensive look at the role, who it’s a good fit for, and how we operate as a company. With that disclaimer, you officially can’t get mad that it’s long!

About the Role
We’re looking for a Content Marketing Writer to support content development for our customers.
What you WILL be doing in the short term:
- Creating detailed article briefs that will be passed along to customer-side editorial teams
- Performing optimizations and refreshes: updating existing content on clients’ websites to improve traffic potential, messaging, and conversion potential — in addition to editing and copyediting. This also includes landing pages, case studies, visuals, and seeking SME input.
- Writing content for our customers, powered by AI workflows which should provide a lot of the information and structure for you.
- Providing feedback on AI workflows to help us set you up for success, while also keeping our output top-notch
- Performing internal link audits (we have handy internal dashboards and tools that make this simple, but strong editorial sensibilities are important for these).
- Assisting with some internal and external (client-facing) project management.
- Supporting on topic and content audits as part of our SEO and content strategy initiatives.
- Checking your Slack throughout the workday (during your working hours) in case teammates have questions or need feedback on something.
- Joining these regular calls (and some more ad-hoc ones):
- Weekly company-wide catch-up on Mondays where we chat about our weekend (usually less than 30 min)
- 1:1’s with your manager as needed
- Monthly 60 min all-hands meeting
What this role does NOT involve:
- Doing the exact same thing, following the exact same process every week. While there is undoubtedly a lot of writing, we will work to make sure you have a diverse set of tasks.
- Working on one client all day every day forever; you’ll get to work with a mix of clients, which helps to keep the workload varied
- Owning client communications and being on a bunch of calls with a client (we have a separate department that leads this).
- A bunch of technical SEO work (we have a separate department for this).
Long-term opportunities:
-
As you grow in this role, there will be opportunities to get reps on more strategic content initiatives.
-
Since you’ll be joining a newly formed department, there will be opportunities to help us expand and improve our workflows, service offerings, systems, and the department as a whole.
-
Take more ownership over our AI initiatives by helping us test and iterate on the way we use AI to support content production.
-
Help us grow in new functional areas where we’re currently not strong, including:
- Video and graphic design
- Social (reddit)
- other content formats
-

Our approach to AI
We think AI is an amazing enabler that can be abused in a variety of ways.
How we think about AI at OGM:
- At the end of the day, creating content and marketing assets is all about inputs and outputs, whether you’re using AI or not. For example, as a writer, you do things like:
- Read marketing documentation about ICPs to understand the end-customer
- Look through support documentation to understand how the product solves specific problems
- Blog and other marketing content to see how the company talks and describes what they do
- With the right inputs, AI is exceptional at consuming mass quantities of information and connecting dots that people often miss
- We want to use AI to connect these dots for us, and make connections we might not make
- Over-reliance on AI is akin to turning off your brain and letting it atrophy.
- If we just blindly take outputs from AI workflows and hand them off to customers or publish on websites, we’re not intellectually engaging with the material and understanding a customers’ growth motion.
- As we use AI more, it’s more important than ever to question every little thing, and not just rely on these outputs for what we do.
- We have a very high bar for content quality — not just saying that**.** We believe that as AI content proliferates, people will recognize it and filter it out. Therefore, one of the major objectives with all content is to differentiate and not just be AI noise. We believe we can still use AI in our workflows while accomplishing this.
- In an age of AI abundance, content that doesn’t solve problems or make people think will NOT be effective for businesses.
- There is no “right” or “wrong” with AI content. there is only:
- End-user impact: if AI-assisted content helps users achieve an outcome, and helps a business achieve its outcomes, that’s all that matters. In many cases, we think this will NOT be the case — and we are working on being the exception :)
- Risk: the more AI-heavy a piece of content is, the more risk there is with AI search engines, and users
So what are we actually doing with AI?
We are using tools like Airops to:
- Build workflows around:
- content briefs
- optimizing pages
- creating article drafts
- FAQs
- Keyword research
- Transcription analysis
- Dump a significant amount of data about a customer company into Airops— ICP, support docs, messaging, interviews with stakeholders, etc etc — so that it’s factored into the outputs
- Take research steps, such as processing relevant Reddit threads and extracting questions
One of the ways our AI workflows work is that they take a pass at:
- Researching a topic
- Identifying the gaps in the informational market (what else can be done better)
- Processing a company’s product, positioning, and messaging, and propose ways that we can approach the article and do something unique
- Proposing ways to accomplish what we want to accomplish while visually differentiating from competitors
We want YOU to help us work on these workflows, experiment with different processes, and ultimately help us do great work with less effort.
About the Team
Here's how the team is structured - and where you'll fit.
Our CEO Nigel oversees a couple of clients, runs "sales", and helps drive our direction as a unit.
Our COO Chase started from the ground up at OGM and now manages all of our day-to-day operations, runs the majority of internal processes, and serves as a 2nd set of eyes across client work.
Customer Growth Department
Growth Advisors focus on owning the complete success of a few clients each, including running the strategy, working with them to get stuff done, and managing all the work that goes into it.
Growth Managers support the Growth Advisors on day-to-day client work.
Content Marketing Writers (you) sit within the content team and report to the Director of Content. You will work closely with your counterparts on the Growth Team to drive results for customers.
Growth Specialists are the junior arm that powers much of the operations behind our client work.
Other Roles & Departments
Product and Analytics is our one-person R&D department, helping us build and scale for the future. You'll be an internal "customer" of the Product Team, with the ability to contribute as much as you want.
Growth Design is another one-person department focused on how we can bake design, UX, and a conversion-focused mentality into all of our work — from strategy to execution to optimization.
Digital PR ensures we get the links and mentions that make everything else work, in addition to iterating on our formula for the AI future.
Head of Tech SEO provides technical SEO support for each of our accounts.
Ops Manager is like a mix of PM, Ops, Admin, and the kitchen sink — ******a one-person shop that makes everything work. The solver of problems and enabler of things.
Beyond roles and what we do at OGM . . . everyone has their own interests, quirks, and areas where they are super knowledgable - completely outside the purview of marketing. We hope it's the kind of place where you can be yourself and not have to put on a "work face".
Is This a Good Fit for Me?
Obviously, we're biased, but here is our honest (as can be) assessment of the pros/cons of working with OGM — in this role.
Benefits to you and your career
- Work with a supportive and talented team
- We have a lot of talented people on our team, and we believe in supporting each other’s growth. If you’re looking to learn from some of the best in the business, we believe OGM is a great place to level up your content and SEO chops (and more).
- See the impact of your work
- Marketing is often an abstract exercise in doing something to please a stakeholder. With the work we do, you’ll see results, be able to quantify them, and see how they impact the bottom line.
- We’ve worked with some clients for 2+ years and have witnessed the transformational impact of their organic growth programs on the company’s overall success. It’s pretty cool.
- Work with very cool companies
- It’s hard to learn and get valuable experience without working with companies that do big things. ****We work exclusively with high-growth startups and enterprise companies.
Skills match
You’ll likely thrive in this role if you:
- Are not afraid of AI!
- You don’t just use GPT to spit out words, but are interested in how to use it strategically to build great content in the long-term.
- Have a high level of attention to detail.
- Enjoy changing up your tasks (you’ll be doing a mix of writing, editing, auditing, copyediting, project managing, and more).
- Have experience working remotely and are good at managing your own schedule and due dates.
- Are a proactive communicator and a self-starter.
- Give your teammates the benefit of the doubt. We believe in constructive optimism at OGM, both with our internal teammates and our clients.
- Have experience using GSuite, Notion, Ahrefs, Grammarly, and other SEO or content software.
- Have experience working in different CMS software such as Webflow, Wordpress, and Contentful.
Why you may NOT want to take this role
A good match for any role requires a great fit between team members and the company. There are amazing people who aren’t in the right time/space in their careers to thrive and appreciate every role. . . and that’s totally ok! Just trying to keep it real here.
It might not be a good fit for you, IF:
-
You are super anti-AI
- Look, we get it. AI is weird. People have opinions on it. At the end of the day, it’s a tool at our disposal, and we don’t want to be misaligned with anyone on the team.
- We believe AI is a force multiplier for content function when used correctly and expect the team to rely on AI whenever possible to improve speed and quality of their work.
-
You really want an office and are apprehensive of remote work
- We’re a fully remote, globally distributed team, so we just can’t help here. Totally reasonable thing to want, though! Having said that, we do annual offsites for the team to meet in person.
-
You want a work environment where people don't share how they feel
- Good work requires candid feedback.
- We have very clear guidelines around being respectful in the discourse, so this doesn't mean it's the Wild West. ****But part of our environment is that people can be themselves and share who they are, while being respectful.
-
You prefer to work with a dedicated editor
- Your work will be reviewed, but we don’t have designated writers/editors/copyeditors. So, whether you’re refreshing, optimizing, or writing a piece of content, you’ll also need to be able to edit your work for grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. Think of the edits you’ll receive from your teammates as more of a peer-review.
-
You’d be annoyed by a fanatical (borderline obsessive compulsive) attention to detail
- We sell ourselves as a premium growth partner that acts as an extension of an in-house team to deliver results. This means we set a high bar, and we’ve created a culture where people within the company hold all of our work to the highest standard.
- This aspect of our culture self-selects for very motivated people who truly want to do great work and level up.
- Transparently, this role is not for everyone: you may be reading this and either nodding or shaking your head — you should proceed accordingly!
- You'll have the opportunity to solve new problems and help us evolve the way we think about working with fast-growing companies. We all solve new problems on a regular basis, which is exciting to some, but not what everyone is looking for.
Examples of backgrounds/experiences that may be a great fit
This is NOT some definitive list; it’s more so to show examples of different types of people that could kill it in this role:
- Content Marketing Manager or Junior CMM - you have experience writing and editing articles, understand how a content department runs at an agency or in-house, and have a solid foundational understanding of SEO strategy.
- SEO or Content Writer - you’ve worked in-house, at an agency or freelance as a writer and you understand how to craft a quality article that’s also optimized for SEO.
- Copywriter - you have experience writing engaging short-form and long-form content tailored to specific target audiences in line with the brand voice.
- Content Specialist - you’re a strong writer and editor with some SEO experience.
If you don't fit any of these descriptions, but you still think you're qualified, holla at us.
About OGM
Read on if you want more details on how we operate - and think about the work we do.
An “agency” that hates the word “agency”
Technically, we’re an “SEO/AEO agency”. But we are on a mission to do things differently and redefine this much-maligned business model.
Here are a few common stereotypes of marketing agencies, and how we try to be different:
- Agencies just send clients spreadsheets and then saying “good luck”
- We make a point to own results, not deliverables. We also make a point to work with clients on getting projects launched, instead of just delivering abstract strategy docs that don't actually make things happen.
- We help customers across the wide spectrum of organic growth: strategy, content, PR, tech SEO, growth design.
- Agencies scale quickly by hiring sales over expertise
- To be clear, there's nothing wrong with sales. We just aren't growing that way (for now). We only have hardcore practitioners and have no “fluff” on the team (our CEO is the de facto Head of Sales). As a result, we’re a stable, profitable, growing company.
- Agencies do a half-ass job and only care about closing a contract
- Our long-term clients keep working with us because we deliver results and make it a point of pride to continue owning our joint success. All of our clients come from referrals, so we are HIGHLY motivated to keep delivering great results.
How we think about Marketing, AEO, & Organic
If you’ve made it this far, you truly have an exceptional attention span for 2025. Congrats on that! Anyway, we want to share a bit about the actual work we do, and our philosophy.
- AEO cannot happen in isolation
- We work closely with product marketing, brand, comms, web, and more teams to make sure we are effectively putting out the right message
- Traditional search (blue links) and AI search are interdependent
- We still want to “rank”, but we also need to think beyond ranking
- We don’t just care about being mentioned; we also care about sentiment
- In traditional search, we care about making our blue link rank above other blue links
- since AI answers effectively communicate opinions about a brand to users, we have to monitor how we’re being discussed, and work to move the consensus to beter align with our client’s positioning
Building software and tools to automate our workflows
We believe that a lot of the normal work that goes into AEO and Content can be aided by a better use of data and tools. So we're building tools! You’ll be able to contribute to — and benefit from — these efforts.
If you have an interest in building products, processes, and automation, you'll get hands-on experience here.
Focused on the nuances of communication and process
We're a remote company. This forces us to be mindful of all the small things around how we communicate — with each other (internally) and clients (externally).
We try to constantly evolve our communication policy so that we don't waste people's time and minimize misunderstandings that arise from not communicating effectively.
