About the role

We optimise the profits of leading global businesses including Amplitude, Cloudflare, Jewsons, and Gitlab.

Now we’re building the agency’s own marketing strategy to create content that our customers want to engage with, including standout original research.

Are you interested in:

  • Executing and maintaining the content strategy developed by the Head of Marketing, adapting it to evolving market needs and feedback
  • Creating high-performing content—blogs, guides, landing pages, email nurtures, videos, and more—that aligns with SEO best practices and customer intent
  • Assign and project manage work for the in-house content writers, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery for the SALT marketing team
  • Auditing, refreshing, and optimising existing SALT content to improve performance across search, conversion, and engagement metrics
  • Managing the content calendar and delivery pipeline
  • Working in cross-functional teams to share knowledge, collaborate, and contribute to outstanding results for the business
  • Developing an industry-leading content strategy and continually improving your skills in a team that publishes in leading publications like Content Marketing Institute and Search Engine Journal
  • Overseeing the work of freelancers and content creators
  • Being part of a high-performing team that makes a difference

What you'll do

We are looking for a Content Marketing Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for sales enablement, freelancer management, and content strategy execution for SALT. Your proven ability to execute content strategies that support business goals – traffic, conversions, and engagement – will elevate our marketing. You understand how to craft effective B2B content across formats, funnel stages, buyer personas, and Jobs to be Done (JTBD) frameworks.

This is a great opportunity to use your excellent writing and editorial skills to nurture long-term career opportunities at an exciting juncture in our digital marketing agency.

This is a hands-on writing and strategy execution role – not a pure strategy role. If you’re seeking a position that focuses solely on strategy, this likely isn’t the right fit.

What you bring to SALT

  • Ability to optimise for long-term impact over short-term wins
  • Excellent editorial skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading
  • A minimum of three years of experience creating content
  • A desire to produce exceptional written work to help us to achieve strategic objectives
  • Creativity and a commitment to original, high-quality content
  • Brilliant communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of working with sales teams to build sales enablement content
  • Knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude) to develop content and strategy workflows that support – not replace – human thought and quality
  • Ability to assess content performance using Google Analytics, GSC, and Ahrefs, and to iterate for better results
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with freelancers, stakeholders and peers, both internal and external
  • Good planning, prioritisation, and organisation skills
  • Commitment to using software and martech for project management, timekeeping, meetings, communication and reporting.
