I’m hiring a Content Marketing Manager, Editorial at Zocdoc—and this is one of the more interesting content roles in healthcare right now.
There’s a huge audience almost no one is truly talking with: the providers, marketers, and ops leaders actually running healthcare businesses. Solo practices to enterprise systems. The people managing cancellations, patient growth, reputation, staffing, and the daily reality of operating inside the most complicated industry in the country.
This role is for someone who knows how to pull stories out of people. You’re comfortable interviewing busy leaders, translating their thinking into sharp ghostwritten pieces, and turning one good conversation into a lot of momentum—posts, essays, newsletters, ideas that actually travel.
You’d own this end to end: blog, newsletter, LinkedIn, executive ghostwriting. Not just publishing content, but starting conversations and shaping a point of view—inside the country’s leading healthcare marketplace.
You’d report directly to me (former journalist, building this team from scratch). I’m looking for 5–8 years of experience, strong editorial instincts, real interviewing chops, and someone who cares about craft and understands that the work has to perform.
Hybrid in Soho, NYC.
If this sounds like your kind of work, the role is here
(And as this is a writing role, cover letters matter to me)
Our Mission
Healthcare should work for patients, but it doesn’t. In their time of need, they call down outdated insurance directories. Then wait on hold. Then wait weeks for the privilege of a visit. Then wait in a room solely designed for waiting. Then wait for a surprise bill. In any other consumer industry, the companies delivering such a poor customer experience would not survive. But in healthcare, patients lack market power. Which means they are expected to accept the unacceptable.
Zocdoc’s mission is to give power to the patient. To do that, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace that makes it easy to find and book in-person or virtual care in all 50 states, across +200 specialties and +12k insurance plans. By giving patients the ability to see and choose, we give them power. In doing so, we can make healthcare work like every other consumer sector, where businesses compete for customers, not the other way around. In time, this will drive quality up and prices down.
We’re 18 years old and the leader in our space, but we are still just getting started. If you like solving important, complex problems alongside deeply thoughtful, driven, and collaborative teammates, read on.
Your Impact on Our Mission
Providers can't partner with Zocdoc if they've never heard of us — or if everything they've heard sounds like everyone else. This role exists to change that. You'll run a small, scrappy publication on Zocdoc's website — with a newsletter and LinkedIn presence to match — acting as our in-house reporter, finding the stories hiding inside the company and turning them into content that earns attention and drives measurable traffic.
