About Buddy Punch

Buddy Punch's workforce management software gives employers all of the tools they need to track their employees' hours, create work schedules, manage time off, and run payroll. We're among the highest-rated apps in our market on G2 and Capterra, with customers consistently praising us for our ease of use, affordability, and exceptional customer support.

We're a bootstrapped company that's been in business since 2013, and content has played a huge role in our growth. We're looking for a content marketer to help us scale that growth even further by maintaining and expanding our existing library of content.

About the role

As a content marketer at Buddy Punch, you'll bring all of our ideas for content to life. You'll get ideas from our SEO consultant and head of marketing, then transform those ideas into high-quality, well-researched, helpful content.

This is a position with incredible autonomy. We're a small, fully remote team where everyone is expected to act like an owner, doing the work they know needs to be done without having to be asked to do it or feeling like they need to ask for permission.

If you love writing, enjoy autonomy at work, prefer to communicate with your coworkers and managers asynchronously, and are interested in creating content that helps small businesses, you'll love working with us.

Primary responsibilities

  • Write content for the Buddy Punch blog. Writing will be 90% of the work you'll do. Some weeks, you'll create or update purchase-intent blog posts designed to get Buddy Punch in front of in-market buyers; other weeks, you'll be doing customer interviews to create top-of-funnel content that our target buyers can't help but click.
  • Edit content written by others. You'll make sure all of the content we publish — whether it's written by you, another member of our team, or a freelancer/contractor — meets our quality standards.
  • Publish all content. You'll be responsible for building and publishing all of our content in WordPress.

Who we're looking for

You'll be a good fit for this role if you:

  • Have 3-5 years experience writing content for SaaS companies.
  • Enjoy writing and aren't interested in simply copying and pasting from an LLM.
  • Have experience using WordPress or another content management system.
  • Are interested in learning more about SEO and growing a company with content.
  • Enjoy doing research and turning what you learn into helpful guides for others.
  • Don't mind following detailed briefs that dictate what to include in your content.
  • Pay a lot of attention to details and have a great eye for editing.

Our values

At Buddy Punch, we are guided by our core values, which shape our culture and define our approach to work. We believe in:

  • Integrity: We prioritize honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct, ensuring sincerity and fairness in all that we do.
  • Diligence: We value hard work and resilience, encouraging our team members to strive for excellence, productivity, and commitment.

  • $75k-$90k salary, depending on experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Provided equipment for remote work
  • Fully remote work environment offering flexibility and work-life balance
