The FCDC is a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship, resources, and support for BIPOC marketers, primarily based in developing countries. Our content helps educate, connect, and grow our community. We have a strong voice; now we want stories that reach deeper, spark more engagement, and drive measurable results.
Why this role matters
We need a content strategist to lead our storytelling across blog posts, social media, email, and web content. You will shape how our community experiences The FCDC, from a newsletter that gets opened to a blog series that ignites conversation.

What youâll be responsible for
We're looking for a storyteller and creative who can create demand-led content that increases engagement within our community. This is the core of what you'll be doing.
Content strategy & planning
- Create and manage a content calendar aligned to audience insights and organisational goals.
- Identify narrative opportunities from programs, interviews, webinars, community insights, and data.
- Use data and audience feedback to prioritise content creation.
Storytelling & content creation
- Create and publish engaging stories that inform and inspire across formats:
- Long-form blog posts
- Email newsletters
- Captions and threads for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter
- Research reports
- Pitch decks
- Communityâcentric content from authentic voices and interviews.
- Turn one asset (e.g., a webinar) into multiple content pieces â blog posts, emails, social sequences.
SEO & discoverability
- Write content optimized for search while keeping the human audience frontâofâmind
- Use keyword research and SEO principles to improve visibility, engagement, and referral traffic.
AIâassisted workflows
- Build repeatable content workflows that leverage AI where it supports productivity without compromising quality.
- Know how to adapt AI drafts into polished, original content.
Crossâteam collaboration
- Partner with designers, program leads, and community managers to produce aligned, highâimpact campaigns.
- Turn briefs into onâbrand content that hits deadlines and delivers results.
What weâre looking for
Mustâhave experience
- 4+ years in content marketing, copywriting, or related role with strong writing output.
- Portfolio with samples that demonstrate storytelling and strategic thinking.
- Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals and how to apply them in content.

- A repeatable process for repurposing content across platforms.
