Commissioning Editor, Psyche Magazine
4 days/week or full-time
Candidates must be based in the UK, Europe or east coast USA
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
Since its launch in 2020, Psyche magazine has built a reputation for commissioning and publishing excellent, expert-written psychology articles. We are seeking an experienced editor to join our team to help us build on this track record and expand our psychology coverage.
Are you the right person for this job? You will be an experienced editor fascinated by human psychology and with a strong intuition for the kind of questions people ask about themselves and others. You will be inspired by our global, mission-driven publishing and our commitment to human expertise and experience. You will be a generative, confident editor with 5 years+ of experience in quality publishing and a passion for commissioning content that informs, delights and provokes readers. You will be excited by the prospect of helping fulfil Psyche's ambition to become the number-one destination for high-quality, engaging psychology coverage.
This is an editorial role at 0.8 or full-time hours, not a staff writer position, though there will be opportunity for some writing. An interest in audience growth and working with our audience team as part of the role would be a distinct advantage.
You must be based in the UK, Europe, or east coast USA for time-zone reasons. We have offices in New York and London, and are open to in-office, hybrid or fully remote work.
