As Bizthom’s Brand & Content Strategist, you won’t just be creating content—you’ll be shaping the voice of a brand that’s set to transform the landscape of African business education. Your role is critical in distilling Joel’s wealth of experience into content that educates, inspires, and empowers entrepreneurs across the continent. You’ll be working directly with Joel to craft content that is not only insightful but grounded in real-world African business experiences.

What You’ll Achieve

Content Strategy & Development:

  • Content Calendar Management: Develop and manage a comprehensive content calendar aligned with Bizthom’s business goals, product launches, and marketing initiatives. Your strategic planning will ensure that we’re always delivering timely, relevant content that addresses the real needs of African entrepreneurs.
  • Content Creation: Lead the creation of high-quality content across various formats, including blog posts, videos, podcasts, social media updates, newsletters, and more. You’ll be the voice behind our content, ensuring it’s engaging, educational, and always on point.
  • Copywriting: Write compelling, on-brand copy for landing pages, quizzes, email campaigns, social media posts, and promotional materials. You’ll be translating Joel’s strategies and insights into powerful content that moves the needle for our audience.
  • Content Curation: Curate and repurpose existing content to maximize its value and reach. Identify opportunities to leverage past content in new ways, ensuring nothing goes to waste and everything serves our audience.
  • Research & Topic Generation: Conduct research on industry trends, audience pain points, and relevant topics to generate content ideas. Collaborate with Joel to ensure our content is not just relevant but leading the conversation in African business circles.
  • Content Refinement: Take insights and raw content provided by Joel and refine them into polished, impactful content that resonates with Bizthom’s audience.

Brand Communication:

  • Social Media Trends & Platform Updates: Stay informed about the latest social media trends, platform updates, and best practices. Your ability to adapt and innovate will keep Bizthom at the forefront of the conversation.
  • Brand Voice Maintenance: Ensure consistency in Bizthom’s brand voice across all content. Your role is to ensure that every piece of content reflects our mission and values.
  • Cross-Platform Consistency: Oversee messaging and tone across Bizthom’s website, social media, email communications, and other channels. Your work will ensure that our brand feels cohesive and recognizable, no matter where our audience finds us.
  • Campaign Development & Execution: Develop and execute social media campaigns that align with Bizthom’s content strategy and business objectives. You’ll be driving engagement, brand visibility, and audience growth through innovative campaigns.

PR & External Communications:

  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers. You’ll be the bridge between Bizthom and the media, ensuring our stories are told with impact.
  • Press Releases & Media Kits: Write and distribute press releases for major announcements, product launches, and milestones. Develop and maintain comprehensive media kits that showcase Bizthom’s unique value proposition.
  • Crisis Communication: Manage external communications during crises, ensuring that statements align with Bizthom’s values and mitigate negative impacts. Your quick thinking and strategic communication will protect and enhance Bizthom’s reputation.
  • Speaking Engagements & Thought Leadership: Coordinate speaking engagements, podcast appearances, and guest blogging opportunities for Joel. You’ll be helping to position Bizthom and Joel as leading voices in the business education space.

Community Building:

  • Fostering Engagement: Nurture a strong, engaged community around Bizthom’s brand, encouraging active participation and building long-term relationships. Your ability to connect with our audience will be key to building a loyal community.
  • Platform-Specific Strategies: Tailor content strategies to the specific requirements of different social media platforms. Your expertise will ensure that Bizthom’s content resonates effectively across all channels.

Performance Tracking & Reporting:

  • Analytics & Insights: Regularly track and analyze content performance, audience engagement, and PR efforts. Use data to inform and refine content strategies, ensuring everything we do is impactful.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to Joel on the effectiveness of content strategies, PR campaigns, and brand initiatives. Your insights will help steer Bizthom’s content strategy.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Digital Marketing Specialist, sales, product, and other teams to ensure alignment with Bizthom’s broader business objectives. Your role is central to ensuring that content drives our overall strategy.
  • Content & Campaign Integration: Integrate content strategies with marketing campaigns, product launches, and other key initiatives. Your work will be pivotal in making sure all parts of Bizthom are working towards the same goals.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Content Strategy: Strong understanding of content strategy development, including audience research, content planning, and multi-platform content creation.
  • Copywriting & Editing: Excellent writing and editing skills, with a focus on creating engaging, clear, and compelling content that aligns with Bizthom’s brand voice.
  • Brand Communication: Deep understanding of brand development and communication, with the ability to maintain and evolve Bizthom’s brand voice consistently.
  • PR & Media Relations: Proven experience in managing PR campaigns, building media relationships, and securing media coverage. Ability to handle crisis communications effectively.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Proficient in using analytics tools to track content performance and audience engagement. Strong ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Social Media Management: Expertise in managing social media platforms, engaging with audiences, and growing online communities.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Business Education: Understanding of the business education landscape, particularly in Africa, is highly desirable.
  • Creative Thinking: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative content ideas that resonate with Bizthom’s audience.
  • SEO Knowledge: Basic understanding of SEO principles to ensure content is optimized for search engines.
  • Graphic Design & Video Editing: Basic skills in graphic design (using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing are a plus.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Experience using Notion
