Pavago is hiring on behalf of one of our clients, who is seeking a AI Automation Engineer become the go-to expert for building AI-powered workflows in their marketing technology (MarTech) environment. This is a hands-on builder role, ideal for someone passionate about connecting systems, experimenting with AI capabilities, and finding innovative ways to automate complex marketing processes. As the n8n platform champion, you’ll design sophisticated workflows that connect marketing tools, AI services, and data sources into seamless automations. From creating workflows that automatically generate and distribute personalized marketing content, to developing AI-powered tools for campaign performance analysis, your work will directly scale capabilities without increasing headcount.

Responsibilities

  •  Automation & Workflow Design: Champion the use of n8n to build complex, scalable workflows that connect marketing platforms, AI services, and internal tools.
  •  Integration Development: Connect disparate systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and data transformations to ensure seamless cross-platform functionality.
  •  AI-Powered Solutions: Implement advanced AI integrations such as OpenAI (GPT-4, DALL·E), Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs (audio), and video generation tools (e.g., Runway, Synthesia, D-ID).
  •  Optimization & Monitoring: Continuously monitor automation dashboards, troubleshoot failed workflows, and optimize existing solutions for reliability and speed.
  •  Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with the tech lead and team via Slack and video calls, gather requirements, share progress, and maintain clear documentation of workflows and solutions.
  •  Innovation & Experimentation: Explore new AI capabilities, test models, and identify opportunities to enhance marketing operations with cutting-edge tools.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven expertise in n8n (non-negotiable) with experience designing and maintaining advanced automation workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, API authentication methods (OAuth, API keys), and JSON data transformation to ensure seamless integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with AI platforms including OpenAI (GPT-4, DALL·E), Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs (audio generation), and at least one video AI tool such as Runway, Synthesia, or D-ID.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology environments and the ability to build automations that support KPIs, content generation, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Practical experience with SQL for data queries, Git for version control, API testing tools such as Postman, and cloud storage platforms like AWS S3 or Google Cloud Storage.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus, particularly for integrating or modifying existing applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and integrate new platforms, troubleshoot workflow issues, and optimize automations in fast-paced technical environments.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
A typical day in this role involves checking automation dashboards to troubleshoot any errors, resolving API or data pipeline issues, and then focusing on building new workflows in n8n that integrate marketing platforms with AI tools. You’ll spend time testing AI prompts for content generation, developing automations that streamline marketing operations, and collaborating with the tech lead and team through Slack or occasional video calls to gather requirements or solve challenges. Alongside daily responsibilities, you’ll also dedicate time to experimenting with new AI capabilities, optimizing existing workflows for performance and reliability, and documenting solutions to ensure scalability and knowledge-sharing across the team.
