Freelance writers wanted:

Metro.co.uk will be celebrating #BlackHistoryMonth once again this October and I’m thrilled to be overseeing our coverage. The theme this year is Standing Firm in Power and Pride, celebrating those who’ve made powerful contributions as leaders, activists and pioneers in the community. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the continued positive impact of our rich culture.

I’d love to take pitches from writers in all areas, including Entertainment, Lifestyle, Sport, Culture, and Politics, ideally in keeping with this year’s theme, but all ideas are welcome. This extends to multimedia, too, so if your idea fits social video, even better.

I should also note that while this content will be published around Black History Month, it would be great to continue working together beyond October.
