GLIDE, a values-first digital creative agency based in Austin, Texas is looking for a Google Ads Specialist (PPC). This role is freelance and part-time.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an SEO & Generative Search Strategist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how our clients are discovered, not just by traditional search engines, but by the next generation of AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), and other emerging Large Language Model (LLM)-based platforms.
You will lead strategic SEO efforts, while also pioneering Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). This position is ideal for a proactive, multi-tasking strategist who thrives at the intersection of technical SEO, strategic content planning, and broader marketing alignment.
We’re looking for someone who is eager to integrate closely with client teams, understand their business goals, and deliver outcomes that span beyond rankings, driving visibility, trust, and performance across both traditional and generative search experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Partnership & Strategic Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for SEO clients, building trust through clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and proactive recommendations.
- Work as an extension of clients’ marketing teams, ensuring SEO/GEO strategies are aligned with broader content and business objectives.
- Lead performance discussions and present results in an accessible, insight-driven manner, with tailored dashboards and actionable takeaways.
- Translate evolving SEO/GEO landscapes into clear value propositions for clients, educating them on emerging opportunities and risks.
SEO Strategy & Implementation
- Conduct comprehensive audits (technical, content, backlink, on-page) to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and execute high-impact SEO roadmaps using the Blueprint SEO Sprint methodology, delivering focused outcomes in defined sprints.
- Implement on-page optimizations: metadata, internal linking, schema, technical fixes, keyword refinement, crawl/indexation improvements, query intent alignment, SERP analysis and more.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to embed best practices into site structure, UX, and CMS configurations.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
- Research and apply cutting-edge practices to optimize content for AI-driven search tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Google SGE, Perplexity).
- Adapt SEO strategy to account for new ranking dynamics in AI-generated summaries, including structured data, authoritative content creation, and “answerability.”
- Optimize for inclusion in AI-generated featured snippets, knowledge panels, and contextual previews.
- Help shape a forward-facing GEO service offering that evolves alongside changes in how users discover and engage with content via LLMs.
Analytics & Reporting
- Use GA4 and GTM to set up and manage conversion tracking, custom events, and analytics flows.
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards to highlight campaign performance, growth opportunities, and strategic next steps.
- Tie performance metrics back to business goals (not just rankings or traffic), focusing on measurable impact.
Conversion Tracking Setup and Maintenance
- Implement and manage conversion tracking to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Set up key events and goals within Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE + KNOWLEDGE
- 3–6 years of proven success in SEO strategy, execution, and client communication, including experience with technical audits and sprint-based work.
- Familiarity and/or direct experience with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to think beyond traditional SEO, with a focus on how content surfaces across modern discovery tools.
- Tools: Google Search Console, GA4, GTM, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio (or equivalent).
- Google Ads certification is a plus, especially if integrated with organic visibility strategy.
- Excellent multitasking, time management, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a client-facing role within a remote, fast-paced, and agile team environment.
- Experience educating clients or internal teams about SEO, GEO, and related digital marketing practices.
