Salary 60-70k (or Lauren Spearman will cancel us)
Frankly speaking, please only apply if you have a proven record of growing and managing a social media team and experience in rooms with decision-makers.
In a nutshell:
Founded by Michael Corcoran, Ryanair's former Head of Social (heโll milk this for as long as he can), in 2024, Frankly is a first-of-its-kind social media business. We get uncomfortable close to brands, identify what they need to do to be effective on social media and equip you to do that.
Itโs our job to make ourselves redundant. Name another agency happy to do that. ๐
Donโt worry; you still keep your job; just move on to your next victim.
One year on, Beth Thomas joined the chaos, and we built out our first version of the programme.
Some great work, learned lots, failed lots, and the programme just gets better from that. We are clearly onto something and the next iteration is exciting.
The core programme fundamentals stay the same; We nail the strategy (real strategy), and you build out the method to operationalise the thinking with partners through; coaching, workshops and/or bespoke solutions. This is where you come in as Director of Social Media.
Youโll work on multiple brands simultaneously, so you must love building high-performance teams in social.
Youโll constantly iterate and improve our thinking too, the workshops and the methods within the Frankly team. Weโre also excited to evolve, developing new products born from Frankly in 2025, which youโll be involved in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing social, platform and content strategies using our framework. Some programmes youโll lead and some projects youโll ride shotgun, BUT we'll push our thinking together.
- Be comfortable hosting & navigating โdiscovery sessionsโ with partners, drawing insight from the brand owners to find insight that unlocks GREAT strategy.
- Comfortable taking a social, operational blueprint and applying it to each partner & adapting based on other influences with their business and processes to operationalise the strategy. Strategy is only as good as its execution.
- You get a partner operationally ready internally and ensure external partners become better partners to build something sustainable.
- Create and run workshops specific to the needs of the strategy, face-to-face and on video, so teams understand how to execute and build processes that work.
- You will be responsible for coaching and growing the talent within the team to become future leaders when itโs time to hand over the keys.
- You will work with MC & Beth to constantly evolve the programmes to be world-class & help develop new ways to improve all who work in social media.
- Be a face of Frankly, a desire to be a leading voice on social media thinking and what makes good work, work.
What you need:
- You must love leadership and people management, growing people to lead.
- Be able to convince people why the thinking may work and try to stick it out. Be a good storyteller.
- Love detail and every step to find improvements, tweaks, and efficiencies to unlock more from a team.
- You are a jack-of-all-trades in social media, channels, content, creators, paid and community. Weโll lean into areas where you have more expertise to complement the rest of the Frankly team but a wider breadth of knowledge is needed.
- You are relentless and curious about how social media works and changes.
- Want to be the face of Frankly and influence the entire industry?
Other things to know:
- We havenโt got it fully figured and youโll come along for the ride, weโll have fun doing it along the way.
- Be hungry to challenge the Frankly approach, the method and the steps to evolve and improve it.
