Job Title: SEO Content Writer

Location: Remote

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Role Summary

We are looking for an SEO Content Writer to join our team and contribute to the organic growth of our website. You will be responsible for writing new SEO-optimised content and refining existing articles to improve search rankings, readability and engagement.

This role also involves supporting E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness) initiatives, including developing expert reviewer profiles and ensuring our content aligns with best practices for credibility and reliability. You will also collaborate with our in-house designer to create engaging, informative content repurposed for infographics, social media and other formats.

Given the nature of our industry, we need someone who is comfortable and open to writing about the topic of death, funerals, and end-of-life planning in a sensitive and informative manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Researching, writing and optimising SEO-focused content to improve organic traffic and engagement.
• Reviewing and refining existing content to enhance clarity, structure and search visibility.
• Supporting E-E-A-T initiatives, including expert reviewer profiles and authoritative content improvements.
• Collaborating with our in-house designer to repurpose content into infographics, social media posts and other formats.
• Staying up to date with SEO best practices and content trends to ensure our content remains competitive.
• Ensuring all content aligns with Aura’s brand voice, tone and industry standards.
• Conducting keyword research and competitor analysis to inform content strategies.

About You

Essential:

• Proven experience in SEO copywriting
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices, including keyword research and on-page optimisation
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to write about sensitive topics (such as death, funerals and bereavement) with empathy, compassion and clarity
• An understanding of Google Search Console and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar
• Experience collaborating with designers, marketing teams or social media teams on content repurposing.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Comfortable and skilled in using AI to create efficiencies in your work processes and enhancing your content without losing the human touch

Desirable:

• Experience working in the funeral, legal or healthcare sectors
• Understanding of content marketing strategies beyond SEO
• Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress
• Basic knowledge of HTML and structured data
